Dental Implants
If you are missing one or more teeth, dental implants may be your best option to correct the problem. Dental implants are basically a metal post that is placed in the bone replacing the root of a tooth. After 3-6 months, the implant will have "integrated" or "fused" to the bone. At that time, an abutment is screwed into the implant and then a crown is placed on the abutment. Implants have a very high success rate and should be the first line of treatment for missing teeth.

Not all dental implants are the same!
Over the years Dr. Johansen has placed many different brands of dental implants. After seeing how the various designs and brands hold up to the oral environment, he now only uses what he feels are the best implants available. When replacing body parts “good” is not good enough. Many of the discount implant advertisements seen in the Salt Lake Valley are from offices that use cheap dental implants with less than exceptional features. If the price is low, a corner has most likely been cut. Buyer beware.
Implants & Dentures
Dental implants can also serve as anchors for the dentures. In these situations, the implants increase the retention and function of the denture which can dramatically improve the quality of life for the denture wearer.
Dr. Johansen has extensive experience placing and restoring dental implants. To determine if you are a candidate, call and schedule a free consultation visit.
